More and more, my non-selfie artwork is taking on a common style and theme.

My pictures leave something unsaid. Or something unfinished.

I like to combine drawing and painting, and to transition between the two, or to let my paintings just fade out at some point.

I think it’s because I’m interested in the unsaid parts of life. In the things people don’t reveal. In the stuff we don’t understand about ourselves. And the stuff we don’t get about others.

Photographs are always lies, it seems to me. They capture every detail of the surface of a moment, but omit almost everything that matters.

Art should do more, I think. Art should show us more. Even if all it shows us is that there is, in fact, more.
