Tell me a Story

Byron Katie talks a lot about our stories. How we tell ourselves stories constantly, and how those stories impact the way we live our lives, how we react to people and situations, and how they in turn react to us.

Today I spent time with friends and for a few hours, I was distracted from my own story. I saw how true it is. Those moments when you forget yourself – perhaps because you’re laughing or listening intently – are happy ones. It’s only when you remember your story that the dark clouds roll back in.

So how do you spend more of your life NOT thinking about your story?
