A few weeks ago, I started reading this book. I didn’t expect it to make much difference, and yet, one third of the way through, I found myself changing my eating habits without even thinking about it.
I’m having fruit for breakfast, eating lots of salads, vegetables and nuts, and I’ve cut way back on sugar and all my favourite sweet things. But none of it has been intentional. I just seem to want different foods than I used to.
I was in the supermarket yesterday and spent almost all my time in the fresh produce section. My trolley was full of grapes, kiwi fruit, mangos, bananas, spinach, brussel sprouts, asparagus, red cabbage, broccoli … everything I saw looked tempting! And it wasn’t until I got back to the car that I realized I hadn’t even been down the confectionary aisle or looked in the bakery section.
I have no idea if this will last, but I’ve lost the 4lbs I put on over Christmas and my mood has changed for the better. Maybe you really are what you eat?
